This belongs to subgenus Ablabesmyia. The spot in the M cell (between M and Cu veins) is closer to the wingtip than the dark spot at the edge of the wing.

Groovy?
Marshall(1) says a longitudinal groove in the postnotum is found in most Chironomidae and is not found in similar families.

I think yours has a groove and is therefore Chironomidae, but the groove is faint.

Do you have a better picture of the crossvein and branching of the R vein on the outer edge of the wing?
