Strange Caterpillar - Phobetron pithecium

Strange Caterpillar - Phobetron pithecium
Boles, Arkansas, USA
September 12, 2008
Size: one inch
I found another one of these a few days later. When I tried to move it, it dropped its horn-like appendages...they just feel off! It also secreted some sort of sticky substance on the underside of its body parts. The first one just dropped onto my windshield. The second one, my son brought to me, so I have no idea what they eat.
