Flannel moth caterpillar? - Megalopyge opercularis

Flannel moth caterpillar? - Megalopyge opercularis
FR 143, southern Santa Rita Mountains, Pima County, Arizona, USA
October 8, 2008
Looks similar to caterpillars in the Genus Megalopyge, but not sure of the ID.

Moved
Moved from Megalopyge. The Southern Flannel Moth caterpillar has a nice tuft extending out of the back of the caterpillar demonstrated in this specimen. Earlier instar tend to be lighter in color as in his specimen.

Thank you!
That's great information.
