Green Horse Fly - Chlorotabanus crepuscularis - female

Green Horse Fly - Chlorotabanus crepuscularis - Female
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
July 5, 2005
And to think I almost didn't go hunting this morning. I am having issues. First my new camera died. I thought it was the battery...nope...I have to send it in for repairs. Then on the 4th I sat in the grass to watch the fireworks and now I have 30 or more itchy little bites. I like bugs, but not THAT much!

Poor baby!
There: sympathy. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to see and photograph one of these.

Thanks
I needed the chuckle. :) I would have been happier to photograph this one with my 8 MP camera instead of my 4 MP! Oh well, I'm glad to have captured it either way. Good luck with your hunting.

Backup camera
I don't use my Fuji Finepix 3.1 much either, but it's nice to know it's available if my Canon PowerShot Pro 8.0 breaks down. I was told I absolutely needed backup equipment for the jungle last year, bought the Canon, and have taken over 11,000 shots with it since then!
