I'm sure this flower fly is indeed a Ocyptamus fuscipennis. Still, I would like a verification from a fly guru. Thanks.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure you're right.
Inspired by your recent post, I dug through images here. Have you seen this one?

Most of the O. fuscipennis IDed here were handled by Martin, Gerard, or both. I'm not an expert and have no personal experience with these flies, but they are distinctive and I'll bet you're on target with your ID.
