Brown Widow? - Latrodectus geometricus

Brown Widow? - Latrodectus geometricus
Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, USA
October 15, 2008
We have been having quite a few of these around here lately. Their egg sacks seem to be that of the brown widow. I am just wondering if infact it is a brown widow or something else.

Latrodectus geometricus
Yes, a brown widow spider, Latrodectus geometricus. They are most easily identified by their eggsacs, which are uniquely spiky for widow spiders.
