Gerris or Aquarius? - Gerris

Gerris or Aquarius? - Gerris
Fontenelle Forest, SARPY County, Nebraska, USA
October 19, 2008
Can we tell from this water strider image which genus it is, Gerris or Aquarius? Or possibly down to species? Thanks

Size could be important here.
Please provide at least an estimate of body length, if at all possible. While I can't give you an ID, I do know from experience that knowing size will help. (Gerris is a biggie.)

Size
Measured from the "snout" to the "tail" it was about 1 cm long, based on my camera's full frame at maximum telephoto image size. But unfortunately that falls close to the 11mm discriminant mentioned under BugGuide "Info", so that may not be much help.
