Lady beetle - Naemia seriata

Lady beetle - Naemia seriata
Plum Island, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA
October 21, 2008
Size: 5mm
I found this under a piece of bark in the sea grass at the beach.
Is this a Naemia species? It has the same markings as Naemia seriata, but the elytra are wrinkled instead of shiny.

Moved
Moved from Ladybird Beetles.

a 'birth defect'
such rough surface sometimes appears in otherwise smooth beetles as a result of flawed pupal development. I think you're right about the identity.
