Sharpshooter - Homalodisca liturata

Sharpshooter - Homalodisca liturata
Saguaro National Park, Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
October 29, 2008
Size: 3/8 inch
Would love to know what this is.
Spotted it on an Ocotillo branch in the late afternoon.

It is defintely Homalodisca...
...either the species mentioned in the first comment or possibly also Homalodisca liturata:

I believe you are in the geographic range for either species. The easiest way to tell the two species apart is the difference in markings on the top of the head (vitrippenis = stars & liturata = wavy lines). I don't suppose you have any other photos showing a top view? If not, there are those who are expert enough that they may still be able to discern the difference -- unfortunately, that's not me!

Homalodisca
Thank you Harsi.

Perhaps Glassy-winged sharpshooter
Similar to this one:

I am not an expert, nor do I play one on the internet, so wait for confirmation.

Glassy-winged Sharpshooter
Thank you.

Sh-h-h-h:-)
Mention "glassy-winged sharpshooter" in Arizona and you'll start a panic, especially around Sonoita and Patagonia. LOL! I agree with Harsi's alternative species.

Homalodisca liturata
Thanks Eric. I looked this up and see what the panic is all about.
I'll also move it to the right species.
