Triodoclytus in LA County (June) - Triodoclytus lanifer - Female
Webb Canyon, ~2000 ft. altitude, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 16, 2008
I think that I am correct in identifying this beetle as Triodoclytus lanifer, but I'm hoping that someone with more Cerambycidae knowledge would be willing to confirm this before I submit it to the Guide page. Thank you.

Photographed on flowering Toyon (Heteromeles arbutifolia). Mixed chaparral & oak habitat.

Yes, Triodoclytus lanifer.

...

There are no strong dimorphic
There are no strong dimorphic characters in the species, but the apparent length of the antennae (not reaching the middle of the elytra) and abdomen extending beyond the tip of the elytra, would lead me to believe this is a female.

...
Once again, my sincere thanks!
