Dwarf spider male ex grape - Erigone dentosa - female

Dwarf spider male ex grape - Erigone dentosa - Female
Earlimart, Tulare County, California, USA
May 28, 2008
Erigone dentosa outnumbers all other Erigoninae species combined throughout much of the Pacific coast states. The male palp has a hook underneath in the middle, in addition to the long process at the tip, characteristic in all Erigone species. The hook separates it from all other Erigone.
This one was captured on a grape vine. As a male, it may have been ballooning and just landed here.
