Size: 2 1/2 or so
This moth is stunning. Now I know where the army got the idea

"Army" Moth
Found the same moth today in the neighbours yard! We live in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) and are very impressed by the colours and size.

This is the Pandorus Sphinx - Eumorpha pandorus. A very nice specimen! I live in the same county as you do!
