It does...
...look like a Banded Tussock Moth caterpillar to me also.

 
Hmmm, on seeing the side view...
I'm leaning towards Tussock moth myself!

possibly American Dagger Moth
Looks Like a dagger moth to me by the black tufts, but I've only ever seem one from the side, so I can only venture a guess. Compare with these while awaiting a more informed opinion: http://bugguide.net/node/view/505
