millipede with guest - Pseudopolydesmus
rural, Dallas County, Iowa, USA
November 2, 2008
Size: around 1 inch
This millipede was under some loose bark on the ground. It did not move when first disturbed, but moved fairly rapidly later. I did not see the rider (I think is is a mite but I don't have a really clear photograph) until later. I would like an ID on the millipede, plus any information about its guest. Is it a parasite or an accidental rider?
