Carnidae Fly?

Carnidae Fly?
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
September 6, 2008
Size: 6mm oal
Is this fly in the Carnidae family? It looks like it got short-changed in the abdomen department. If you're reading this, it's probably because you might know what it is :) Would you share it with me, please? Thank you.

Lauxaniidae
Carnidae are much smaller and have short antennae. Lauxaniidae often have the abdomen quite short compared to the wings.

To Quote John Maxwell
I see where you gave Joh Maxwell the same advice. To quote John, "Wow was I off." Thanks for your help and, indirectly, a good Monday morning laugh.

I just made it my signature on my account page. Everyone needs a tag-line and all of the really good ones are already taken.

Still Laughing
I'm still laughing. Your's was the first image I clicked on. Well, your comment says it all. I'll continue to credit you ... or not :)
