Bee Fly - Chrysanthrax cypris

Bee Fly - Chrysanthrax cypris
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
May 31, 2008
According to Kaufman Guide, the only yellow bee fly with this wing pattern

C. cypris
ID is correct, but be careful - there are other similar bee flies with predominately yellow bodies and half-black wings (eg. some Paravilla).

Thanks
Thanks for the heads-up on Paravilla. Remarkably similar. Fortunately for me, the distribution range appears to be in the west.
