First and fourth instars - Callosamia promethea

Here is a size comparison between the fourth instar (right) and first instar (left). These are the same species, even though they look very different now. I was surprised to find the five small caterpillars last night, as they appear to have just hatched, while the ones I have been raising are close to pupating already!
