Pearl Crescents - Phyciodes tharos - male - female

Pearl Crescents - Phyciodes tharos - Male Female

Phyciodes tharos
Hi, This is a pair of Pearl Crescents. The females can look a lot like Phaon Crescents, but they pale band through the middle of the wings is usually much more orange. This photo has the advantage of having a male P. tharos (?attached to the female?), which doubles the evidence as to which species is represented.

Moved from Phaon Crescent.

What Was I Thinking?
I haven't seen a phanon since March, just pearls
.
Thank you for catching and for the tip ID on sex. Have a Happy Thanksgiving
