8574 - Anticarsia gemmatalis - Velvetbean Caterpillar Moth
Sometimes one of the most difficult of the macromoths to identify. A Noctuid that resembles a Geometrid, it comes in 1,000 varieties of colors and markings. It is one of the more common late season moths in the southern USA. Your second photo is also of this species.
