Barklouse - Teliapsocus conterminus - male

Barklouse - Teliapsocus conterminus - Male
Parkwood, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
November 19, 2008
Size: 3 mm body length
Found on leaf litter, captured. Body length 3.5 mm, length to wingtips just under 5 mm. I thought that this was a Psocus initially, but now that I look closely at wing venation, it does not appear to be, and now I'm not even sure which family it could be!
Big eyes and small abdomen seem to indicate it is a male.

Edit: Hmm. Looks a bit like Tom's photo of Teliapsocus conterminus

Looks good--see comments.
The wing venation does not appear to be the same, but it looks close otherwise. (Edit: appears to have an extra vein on one wing--see Tom's comments.)

Moved
Moved from Barklice and Booklice. Looks good, Tom--very observant of you to notice the extra vein. There is just the one species in the genus, so we are go to move to the guide page.

Teliapsocus conterminus looks good
Your bug looks like the closer wing has one more vein than the back wing. If you compare the back wing, it looks identical to mine.
