Is this a Moth? -
Eichlinia cucurbitae
Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA

This creature has been flying around my butterfly bush for the past few days.
I haver never seen anything like it before.
someone suggested it may be a moth.

2536 - Squash Vine Borer Moth - Melittia cucurbitae

Yes
It's a clearwing moth. Family Sesiidae. It appears to be a Melittia species, as those are the only ones in The Moth Book by WJ Holland that have the feathery red hind legs.
