Grasshopper - Melanoplus femurrubrum - Female
Elkton, Douglas County, Oregon, USA
August 12, 2008
Size: approx 1 inch
Could this be a Melanoplus femurrubrum?

Moved
Moved from Melanoplus.

Likely it is
However, this is one of those individuals that is just a bit atypical in pattern. Could be M. sanguinipes; however, if pressed to make a choice, I'd say M. femurrubrum, but I'm not 100% certain. Females are much more difficult than males.
