I think these might be Mischocyttarus mexicanus cubicola. They are living under the cover of a mailbox on the side of the house. They are really quite tame.

Thanks. It helps that these wasps are almost always huddled about their nest. I check up on them each day and there are usually at least three and sometimes more under the cover of the mailbox.
