Identification
tibiae black on all legs (a distinguishing feature); dorsal surface black with numerous silvery hairs; adult males have long wings that extend beyond abdomen; adult females have short wings as short as or shorter than abdomen; hemelytra inconspicuously bicolored (outer area of clavus and inner area of corium slightly paler than adjacent areas) in some long-winged individuals
Range
introduced from Europe (probably on plant material); now occurs in ne. NA (NB-ON-VA)
