Black Desert Beetle (possible Eleodes sp?) - Eleodes
Big Bend National Park County, Texas, USA

Size: Approx. 1-1/4"
This insect was seen at an oasis area in the desert. He has long legs and appeared tall for a beetle, approx. 1" off ground to his belly.

There are many species of Eleodes in North America:-)
