Beetle in dunes - Polyphylla

Beetle in dunes - Polyphylla
Oregon coastal dunes, Oregon, USA
August 1, 2008
These were abundant in very large numbers the night before, then we found some in the dunes, and presumably their emergence holes nearby?

June Beetle
One of the Polyphylla sp, a member of the scarab beetle family. The white stripes and large antler-shaped antennae are diagnostic for this genus. These are nocturnal beetles.
