Potential new NC record for "Harpalus rubripes"?
It is important that we verify this species. If true, this is a significant southward extension. I'm currently writing a paper that discusses the N. Am. range of H. rubripes first introduced to northeast (NH) ca. 1981. Paper on several new WI records was stimulated by my find last week of the remarkable westward extension of this species to WI.
5 mm is way too small for H. rubripes. Remeasure?
Jessica, please tell me you still have this vital specimen for study -- either by me or another carabid expert. Thanks!
