Despite your very nice clear image
I lack expertise in "image recognition" when it comes to Scaphinotus species from the Oregon-Washington region. I count 13 such species in the catalogue by Bousquet & Larochelle (1993). I or another carabid worker would do better by keying out this specimen under scope.

i have not forgot about the other beetle... i have just been too lazy to prep them for shipping. i will attempt to be better about it. sorry. also, i wish i had collected this one, i could have.
