Fly - Suillia

Fly - Suillia
Moccasin Lake, Winston, Douglas County, Georgia, USA
December 18, 2008
Size: about 12 mm
Attracted to light. Found this fellow on the glass sliding door. It has turned warm and a few insects are coming around. Anyone have an idea as to his ID? Any help would be appreciated. Also, notice the tiny hairs along the leading edge of the wings.

Thank you
Thank you John. Looks like that's probably what it is. It seems that the hairs along the wings were the give away from what I read in the info section. Still, I plan to leave it in the ID Request section for a few more days and see what develops. Also if it is this genus (Sullia), it will be a data point for Georgia and in December as well. Again thank you.

Suillia (GA)
is correct. The spines on the wing edge are diagnostic for the family (Heleomyzidae).

Thank you
I moved it to the Genus level.
