wondering what this is? what is the common name? more info about it. is it common or uncommon, does it bite, etc..... any info will help, Thank you.

Polka-dot Wasp Moth
Commonly known as a Polka-dot Wasp Moth, for obvious reasons.

It is
Syntomeida epilais Walker, the adult of the oleander caterpillar. It is totally harmless unless you eat it. The caterpillar is a pest of oleander.
