Nursery web spider - Pisaurina - female

Nursery web spider - Pisaurina - Female
Athens, Clarke County, Georgia, USA
June 8, 2008
The spider was quite large, maybe over an inch body-wise, but I'm not sure my recollection is accurate. She was guarding a cluster of spiderlings wrapped in a silk and dogwood leaf shelter. I've considered that it might be a fishing spider, but I really don't know.

Looks to be Pisaurina
and that's exactly what her nest web would look like.

I would never have guessed.
The nursery web spiders I'm familiar with are typically smallish with a darker brown stripe on the abdomen.

Thanks for the help!
