Brown Recluse - Loxosceles reclusa

Brown Recluse - Loxosceles reclusa
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
December 21, 2008
Size: 13mm (1/2")
a.k.a. Fiddleback.
This is an older specimen because of it's size. This is a fairly big one. Depending on which reference you read they can live between 2 and 4 years. Also interesting is that they can go for around 6 months without food.

Moving?
If you found this at your house, I'm assuming you're selling and moving to safer ground. Yikes!

....
Not a chance. I have grown up with Fiddlebacks and don't have problems with them.

Yellow sac...
That's how I am with the Yellow Sac Spider. I find them all the time in the house and have never been bothered by them. They're rather cool looking.

....
I now have a video on my website of this very spider. Hopefully it will disprove a lot of myths and misconceptions about Fiddlebacks. Please see here.
