Assuming it was attracted to light on deck. He was looking up into the camera. I almost stepped on him...accidentally. It is an assassin bug isn't it? I wasn't able to find an image that had similar markings. Help with ID appreciated.

A leaf-footed bug, see guide page for Leptoglossus. It looks like that genus.
