I am interested to see if an ant expert can ID this beautiful yellow ant. It was large and showy. Found in the desert beside the Green River in Eastern UT.

Not an expert
but I wonder about Lasius?
What big eyes!

Myrmecocystus, probably M. me
Myrmecocystus, probably M. mexicanus. Usually a nocturnal species during the winter months they may be day active.

This is wonderful!
I have wanted to find a honey ant for years.

Cool!
Cool, a "honey ant." Nice image.
