Emerging moth - Sthenopis auratus

Emerging moth - Sthenopis auratus
Acton Vale, Quebec, Canada
July 5, 2008
This moth was found at the base of a tree in dark conditions, and was photographed over a few hours. I managed to return the next day (last image to see the final stage. Any ideas? Looks like it might be a noctuid.

Two different moths.
THIS moth is likely a "ghost moth," and a really nice find! The other moth? I don't know. Please unlink the third image of that different moth, as linking is for multiple images of the same 'specimen' only.

Looks like a Sthenopis auratus - Gold-spotted Ghost Moth - Hodges#00022.

Moved to species page.
I dunno, though, the more I look at this. The genus is correct for sure, but it may turn out to be a species new for Bugguide....
