wheel bug (Arilus cristatus) molting - Arilus cristatus

I happened upon this molting wheel bug in my backyard last summer. It was easy to spot with its bright orange coloration. I watched the adult emerge and after about an hour it slowly turned darker in color. I'll post a few photos in the series.
