Brown Marmorated Stink Bug? - Halyomorpha halys

Brown Marmorated Stink Bug? - Halyomorpha halys
Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia, USA
December 31, 2008
Finding this bugger on a monthly basis in my house. Believed to be a Brown Marmorated Stink Bug due to the striped markings on its antennae and lacking of "teeth"/notches on its thorax. Luckily have yet to experience an example of its stench if it is correct.

Thanks is to be given to those who've helped me narrow down to what it is in the general forums.

Halyomorpha halys positive
Not only the markings you have indicated, but the fact that you've been finding them on a monthly basis inside your home during the fall and winter months is a positive indication that you have the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug. The insect has already been reported in several Counties in the Eastern Panhandle. This is the first report we get from Monongalia County. If you still have specimens and could send one of them to the West Virginia Department of Agriculture to be added in our Insect Museum, I would appreciate it. Please put dead insect(kill in freezer)in a small plastic bottle, put in cushioned envelope or small box, and mail to:
