Ha, ha!
My version of the page shows 2009. I think we ran into this before and concluded that the official bugguide date should be the date where the server is located, which I think is the posting date shown. Does your version of the page show posting at 1 January, 2009 - 12:11am ?

No...
my version of the page shows posting at 11.11 pm December 31st 2008 which I assume is the time zone for the server. My recollection is that I posted it mid-way through the evening local (Pacific) time. Anything I post always shows up on the BG site as 2 hours later than local time .......including this. It may only be 6.54 p.m. here, but at least we finally made it to 2009!

so I think I'll give up trying to understand why my version of the page shows a different time, day, month, and year than yours ;-)
