Dolomedes tenebrosus? - Dolomedes tenebrosus

Dolomedes tenebrosus? - Dolomedes tenebrosus
Geneseo, Henry County, Illinois, USA
July 18, 2005
Size: 4 inch diameter
I found this huge spider that was carrying an egg sack almost 3/4 of an inch in diameter! I've never seen an egg sack that big. This species looked similar to another photo of Dolomedes tenebrosus that I took. Does that sound correct? Thanks.

Dolomedes.
Very nice shots! This is definitely a female Dolomedes, and most likely D. tenebrosus.
