Tiger Beetle Larva - Tetracha

Tiger Beetle Larva - Tetracha
Powhatan County, Virginia, USA
July 16, 2005
My first picture of a tiger beetle larva during the day.

Moved
Moved from Unidentified Larvae & Pupae. Tetracha larvae have that light border to the dark pronotum, though it can be hard to see when caked with soil. Compare my image:

Nice!
Now comes the hard part. You need to decide which of the four pictures to keep on BugGuide and which to send down the long walk as Frass! Just TAG any that you think simply duplicate the information already contained in other of your images, click on FRASS, and moved the tagged images there. They will disappear in 30 days.

That's it!!
Just like what I am seeing and there's a huge number of Ocellated Tiger beetles around here, so maybe that's it. Thanks!!!

Frass
Now that I have a picture of the larva during
the day all the other ones are going into the dust bin.
