Fly - Pollenia - female

Fly - Pollenia - Female
Greenfield, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
September 24, 2004
Going through some of my old unidentified fly pictures, hoping to get them identified at least to family.

Thanks Eric
I guess that hairy thorax is a good clue.

You're welcome.
Well, that golden 'pollen' is a good clue, but it rubs off easily as the specimen ages....They are apparently very common flies, though.

Pollenia.
Definitely Pollenia, family Calliphoridae.
