Is this a Chinese Matid? - Tenodera aridifolia

Is this a Chinese Matid? - Tenodera aridifolia
Bellevue, Nebraska, USA
September 28, 2008
I am trying to determine if this is Tenodera aridifolia. Thanks for any assistance.

I'm thinking European Mantis
I'm thinking European Mantis - Mantis religiosa because of it being all green and most Chinese Mantids I run across are much more of a brown specie.

Thanks a lot, Cody.
I'm still curious, though. I have a guide that says the Chinese Mantid comes in green, light brown, & grey forms. The European Mantid gets to about 2 1/2", i think & this one had to be close to 6". It also has a distinctive black & white spot high on the inside leg which this one did not have. Thanks again for your help.

Craig

Size?
This is clearly a female, but not sure which genus. An accurate size estimate might help. Color suggests European mantis, but I have seen the odd all-green Chinese mantis, too....

Thanks a lot, Eric
She had to be about 6 inches. I thought she was female, but my guides aren't 100% clear on whether this all green one is the Chinese Mantid.
