Larva

Larva
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
January 11, 2009
Size: 10mm (3/8")
Found under bark of fallen tree limb.
Note the unusually large head.

Please help with ID.

Moved
Moved from Longhorned Beetles.

Cerambycidae
the large part is the thorax (white), not head (brown)

Nonetheless...
it's what gives them the common name "round-headed borers," as opposed to "flat-headed borers" for buprestid larvae.

i had no idea -- thanks
