To my eyes (for what little it's worth)
it looks a lot like C. mutabilis. However, I've never been quite sure what it is that really makes C. nitida and C. mutabilis different, except that one is eastern and the other western. The pattern averages a bit different, but there is lots of overlap. This one lacks the pale streak down the middle of each elytron that is so common on C. nitida, making it look very "normal" for a western C. mutabilis. On the flip side, the pale femora are supposedly typical of C. nitida. I would love to hear from somebody who knows what the difference really is. Since my first reaction was C. mutabilis, and because it is a bit far east for that species (I think?), it will probably turn out to be C. nitida :o)
