Female Forbes' Tree Cricket ovipositing into Red-twig Dogwood - Oecanthus forbesi - Female
Pleasant Prairie, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, USA
August 23, 2008
This female was found in a patch of catmint; however, she chose this red-twig dogwood stem for ovipositing eggs.

Cool.
You are getting the most awesome behavior down on 'film!' Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Eric.
Awesome behavior isn't hard when you're dealing with AWESOME bugs! :D AND, I have a freezer full of stems with oviposited eggs inside -- PLUS am taking a trip to southern Texas in May -- it's gonna be a busy season again this year :)
