Widow - Latrodectus mactans - female

Widow - Latrodectus mactans - Female
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
January 18, 2009
Size: 6mm (1/4")
Not dead, just cold.

I think this is a Southern Black Widow, as opposed to a Northern. The hourglass is solid rather than broken.
Please confirm.

Very nice images of what I suspect is a sub-adult female. I'll be curious what Jay Barnes or Jeff Hollenbeck have to say about the dorsal markings. I think she is just not old enough to have lost them yet.

correct. like i mentioned in
correct. like i mentioned in the other image comment, i believe this is a sub-adult mactans. markings on dorsal abdomen should lessen, or even disappear with the next molt (or two if that many is left).
