Feeding time - Halyomorpha halys

Feeding time - Halyomorpha halys
Perry County, Pennsylvania, USA
Having a feed on a piece of apple. How could such a bug be a threat to agriculture? All he does is suck up a few fruit juices with his proboscis , I can't imagine that would hurt anything

Not a threat to agriculture.
So far, at least, this insect is more of a mild pest of ornamental garden plants, sucking sap from stems, leaves. The bigger issue at the moment is the way this species descend en masse on homes seeking winter shelter. That still makes them only a "nuisance pest," though.
