Diogmites angustipennis ? - Diogmites salutans

Diogmites angustipennis ? - Diogmites salutans
Lake Gaston , Warren County, North Carolina, USA
September 4, 2008
Can anybody confirm this ID ?

Diogmites
angustipennis is not a proven species for NC. Though the photos from that area have shown that either it is present or there is an undescribed related species or D. salutans can have a significant reduction in the already limited black markings on the thoracic shield. I am afraid it will require specimens of males and some dissection work to know. This is a female. And for now they are all salutans until proven otherwise. We would love to get some males from out in NC this year.

Thanks
I doubled checked the location this morning to insure it was a photo I took at home in NC and it was. Thanks for the ID and interesting info.I'll try and collect one this summer . Paul
