Paroxya clavuliger
A female with legs greener than average.

Very closely related to Melanoplus.

Looks to me like it might be Scudder's Short-winged Grasshopper (Melanoplus scudderi) but wait for an expert like David Ferguson or Eric Eaton to comment.
