Even though the markings are light, I think this is in the Chironomus decorus group

Moved from Chironominae.

Not C. decorus
Chironomus decorus has most or all wing veins brown, a brown spot at R-M, and brown along Cu2 and A2. The latter two features are variable; there may be more or less brown in the wing membrane. The first is consistent.

This looks like anterior veins clear or slightly darkened, R-M dark, and posterior veins clear.

Size would be helpful, if accurate, and a closeup of the tail with as much or more detail as the head shot.

Thanks for your response.
I have added an image of the tail. Please feel free to frass if it isn't clear enough to help.

That may help
That may help. A top view -- a crop of the second picture if there is any room for cropping -- would also help.
